to switch services from Gioia Tauro to Port Said

| Following
the opening of the Suez Canal Container Terminal
(SCCT) in Port Said, Maersk Sealand is switching
a number of its services from Gioia Tauro, Italy
to Port Said, Egypt.
This follows an agreement between
SCCT and Maersk Sealand to operate a number of Mediterranean
linked services and feeders from Port Said in the
future.
In the coming months the line will
transfer several of its Eastern Mediterranean services
from Gioia Tauro to Port Said. The move is expected
tom improve services to Egypt, Israel, Lebanon,
Cyprus, and Turkey, and also release additional
capacity in Gioia Tauro for customers in countries
served via this port.
